Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026 · Applies to Loop at loop.theboat.dev

Loop (“Loop”, “we”, “us”) is operated by The Boat. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you use Loop, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using Loop you agree to this Policy.

1. What Loop does

Loop is a browser-based tool that helps you select a music loop, sync it to your video, render a short clip on your device, and optionally publish that clip to your YouTube account using Google’s OAuth and the YouTube Data API.

2. Information we process

3. Google user data & YouTube API Services

Loop’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Loop also complies with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service. You can revoke Loop’s access to your Google Account at any time in your Google Account permissions.

Limited Use. We request only the Google scopes needed to upload videos you create and to read related status/channel information for that purpose. We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not use Google user data for creditworthiness or lending decisions. Human access to Google user data is limited to security, compliance, investigating abuse, or when you explicitly request support and provide the relevant information.

4. Where processing happens

Previewing and rendering generally happen in your browser on your device (including via WebAssembly tools such as ffmpeg.wasm). When you publish, the finished file and metadata are transmitted to YouTube.

5. Cookies and local storage

Loop may store small amounts of data locally in your browser (for example recent searches, bookmarks, UI preferences, or a temporarily saved render) to keep the product working offline-capable and fast. You can clear this data through your browser settings.

6. Data retention

7. Sharing

We share information only: (a) with Google/YouTube when you choose to publish; (b) with infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics); (c) if required by law; or (d) to protect rights, safety, and security. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a browser-based app, including HTTPS in production and least-privilege OAuth scopes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

Loop is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. International users

If you use Loop from outside the country where our providers operate, your information may be processed in other countries that may have different data-protection laws.

11. Your choices

12. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of Loop after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
